Laquna is a human resources and workforce operations leader with nearly two decades of experience helping organizations strengthen performance through people-centered systems, operational discipline, and intentional workforce development. Her work focuses on equipping employees with the tools, training, and structure needed to adapt as technology reshapes how work gets done.
She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications and a Master of Public Administration in Human Resources Management from Clark Atlanta University, and completed professional HR certification coursework (PHR) through the University of Georgia.
In addition to her professional HR career, Laquna brings firsthand operator experience through her family-owned businesses, including a commercial cleaning company and a retail ice cream business. Within these companies, she has led efforts to train employees to use technology and AI-enabled tools—such as digital scheduling, workforce tracking, and process-support systems—to improve consistency, productivity, and service quality. Rather than replacing roles, these efforts focused on upskilling existing staff, helping employees work more effectively while strengthening the overall sustainability of the business. This experience directly informs her belief that successful technology adoption starts with people, not automation.
Laquna currently serves on three nonprofit boards, including FutureSouth Foundation, where she helps guide workforce initiatives grounded in real employer needs and practical skill development.
She is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters, Kennedy and Autumn, and a stepmother to Aiden. Her commitment to service is shaped by a family legacy of public service—her father served in the Armed Forces, and her husband is a 20-year First Responder and Fire Sergeant for the City of Atlanta. Together, these experiences inform her dedication to building systems that support workers, families, and the institutions that communities rely on.
