Board of Directors

Martin Hill is a technology leader, entrepreneur, and community advocate whose work focuses on equipping people with practical skills they can apply inside real-world environments. His career spans enterprise technology, education governance, and hands-on workforce training, with a consistent emphasis on helping individuals adopt new tools through learning and application—not abstraction or displacement.

Martin earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College, and later earned both an MBA and a Master of Public Administration from Clark Atlanta University. Professionally, he has played a key role in modernizing academic and operational services and currently manages cloud deployment initiatives at a global insurance technology firm. In these roles, Martin has worked directly with teams to adopt new systems by training employees to understand, operate, and apply technology within existing workflows, reinforcing the importance of workforce readiness alongside innovation.

In parallel, Martin is the founder of SwimBosss, a swim education company rooted in skill development, safety, and confidence-building. Inspired by his own near-drowning experiences, SwimBosss focuses on structured, repeatable training methods that empower instructors and learners alike—demonstrating Martin’s belief that meaningful outcomes come from investing in people and building capability step by step.

Martin also serves as Vice Chair of the SkyView High School Board, supporting educational governance and student readiness initiatives. Raised in rural North Carolina, his perspective is shaped by firsthand experience with the access gaps that often exist outside major metropolitan areas—experience that informs his commitment to practical, inclusive workforce development aligned with the mission of FutureSouth Foundation.
